PRx 20kg Barbell

The PRX thresher barbell is unbelievably the best bar I own! I can say this with confidence as I've owned some good barbells from Rogue Fitness cerakote Ohio barbell, and Rep Fitness cerakote Colorado barbell! This PRX bar once I put my hands on it, it felt amazing not sure what the company did or how they did it but it feels awesome and I find myself looking forward to using it. Comfortable with every exercise that I use it for especially the bench press! I rate this bar 5 out of 5.. PRX if you can make an EZ bar the exact same way with color options I would definitely buy it as well!

Overall a solid barbell! My daily driver barbell is a Uesaka Competition bar which would cost 4x the price (if they were still sold in the US).

In comparison, this bar holds its own against a much higher priced bar. Spin is good without being excessive like many bars on the market seem to be obsessed with. I have used PrX Elite bars for many years and know that this one will hold up as well as it feels an even higher quality. It is actually quieter on drops than my Uesaka bar!

Couple of things that would have made me give it five stars (even if it was more expensive!)

1. I think the knurling would be much better if this was a stainless steel bar. This type of knurling always feels a little too chunky in my hands when it is a chrome or cerakote bar.

2. Tame down that center knurl! I think this is almost as sharp as the first generation Pyrros barbells that Rogue recalled and changed. It is nice to have for some squatting and my first clean session is doubling as a neck shave.

Overall, I am very surprised and pleased that this bar has the features it does at an extremely reasonable price point! If you are a newer lifter and looking for your first barbell, you will love it. Even veteran lifters who are used to fancy equipment will be pleasantly surprised!

I love barbells and try to find bars that fill a purpose in my gym. This bar is like a mini-squat bar due to the fully knurled shaft. Speaking of knurling, it's aggressive but not overly sharp, so it's not too much. The chrome on the shaft "softens" the bite a bit, in a good way. In summary, I really like the knurling for heavy lifts. It also feels great bench pressing. I hit a PR in my first session with this bar on squat; it's very stiff, grips your back, and makes for an excellent experience. Also, the end cap is really nice, it is a raised rubber cap with a great look, which I appreciate. This bar is of very high quality, with top-notch specs, including a very high tensile strength, excellent knurling, and beautiful sleeves. Speaking of sleeves, the sleeves have the same treatment that you find on a lot of high-end firearms equipment; they are highly corrosion-resistant and harden the steel to make it more wear-resistant. I definitely recommend this bar.
