We're excited to recap the memorable PRx Performance 5K Fun Run--An event that brought our team together to promote wellness and support the incredible work of Homeward Animal Shelter. Although the run itself was exclusively for PRx Performance employees, we're thrilled to share with you the highlights of this event and the impact it had on our community... and to give you a heads-up for next year, maybe you’ll join us!
“PRx Performance's 1st annual 5K fundraiser for homeward animal shelter showed the power of community engagement and its impact on our employee culture. This event was important to us because it helped showcase our commitment to not only transforming lives through fitness, but also extending our reach to transform the lives of our furry friends. It was a testament to our core values and showed that our company's heart beats for both people and pets! Through the PRx Performance 5K, we've not only raised vital funds for Homeward's mission but also strengthened our team's sense of purpose and unity. Our employees did an awesome job showing that when we come together, we can lift not only weights but also spirits. I am incredibly proud of what we did here and honored to be a part of the PRx team!”
Before diving into the event's details, let's reflect on the vital mission of Homeward Animal Shelter. This local and community-funded, non-profit organization is dedicated to "Rescue. Shelter. Protect. Rehome." They provide a lifeline to lost, abandoned, and owner-surrendered animals, giving them a second chance at happiness. Homeward Animal Shelter plays a crucial role in educating our community about the proper, loving, and kind treatment of animals. Their commitment to preventing animal overpopulation includes ensuring that all animals six months or older are spayed or neutered before adoption. Since their start in 1966, they have placed nearly 41,000 animals in lifelong, loving homes.
The PRx Performance 5K was an event designed to foster team spirit, promote physical wellness, and support the mission of Homeward Animal Shelter. Our dedicated team members took on a scenic 3.1-mile route from PRx HQ to Labby's Grill and Bar, mirroring the classic 5K distance.
At Labby's Grill and Bar, participants were greeted by the welcoming atmosphere of this local establishment. While the run was limited to PRx employees, the community was welcome to join us at Labby's to learn more about Homeward Animal Shelter and show their support. PRx Performance pledged $10 to Homeward Animal Shelter for every drink sold between 4:30 PM and closing time.
"So I'm not much of a runner, but of course, this was for an awesome cause, and it was a great way to get out of the gym for a day! The 5k was a great way to get our employees together outside of our standard work days."
