I have 5 young boys (7 years and under) and its really hard to break away from the gym even in the early early morning hours. The kids wake up when they want to wake up and I didn't want my workouts to become a burden on my wife. With a home gym next to our playroom in our basement I could workout with all my kids around any time of the day and still watch/play with my boys in between sets, given that my basement gym was right next to our playroom. It wasn't a larger room (~ 12 by 12) so a large cage rack wouldn't have given much space for me to do much else, or have a work out buddy or my wife working out in there with me. The folding rack and wall storage was a game changer and literally made my dream gym possible in our little unfinished storage/HVAC and water heater room. 

I love being able to work out with my kids around. It shows them that I value exercise and they should too! I loved how they would join me for a set of pushups, want to do pull ups on the rack, or see how long they could hold on to the bar before dropping. They knew when I was about to go for a new PR and would chant "Go Daddy go! Go daddy go!...." Some people use heavy metal music for a pump up before a PR....but I'll tell you what, a bunch of "mini me's" telling me I can do it works for me every time!
