Hip Thrust Bench Hack Using The PRx Axis Pad

Hip thrusts are great to build powerful glutes without compressing your spine like with barbell squats.

But hip thrust benches can take up a lot of home gym real estate and most of them are a one trick pony.

In this home gym hack I’ll show you how to recreate this machine with your weight rack, a barbell, weight plates, and an Axis Pad, without taking up any additional floor space.

Hip Thrust Bench Hack Equipment Needed

Weight Rack: Holds the Axis Pad in place

Barbell

Axis Pad: Supports your back like a bench

Weight plates

Setting Up The Hip Thrust Bench

  1. Axis pad: Attach the Axis pad to the rack
  2. Load up: Add weight plates to the barbell
  3. Set up: Rest your middle back on the Axis pad and roll the barbell to your hips
  4. Go time: Push through your heels thrusting the weight up until your thighs are parallel to the floor
